Our Knightly Duty..Brothers all,We pray this message finds you, your family and friends safe and well! For the good of the Order, if you or someone you know needs a prayer, let us know and we’ll add them to our prayer list.
Knowing members of our Council are spread throughout the country, this is a generic message of sorts, but a call for FAITH IN ACTION for all Brother Knights, regardless of where you are at.
As a Knight, we have taken vows to live and practice our Venerable Fr. McGivney’s vision, which was and IS to: Change a man’s life; Deepen and enrich his faith; Strengthen his family; and Build better lives for those who so desperately need help.
And let us not forget, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
With those in mind, please, if possible, support:
1. Blood Drives: As the American Red Cross and state blood bank issue emergency calls for donations, Knights are once again leading the charge in their parishes and communities to give the gift of life. Will you??
2. Support your Parish: With masses and events cancelled indefinitely, your parish needs help…especially, financially! Please visit your parish’s website to see how you can support it!
3. Support your Community: At this time, many are finding themselves cut off and isolated – especially those without family and community support systems. Visit your local government websites, local Facebook pages or other social media sources to see how you can serve your neighbors!
4. Feed the Hungry: Now more than ever, many in our communities are struggling and unable to provide adequate food to their families. Simple, Google, “Food pantry near me,” then visit their page(s) to see how you can support them.
In the meantime, for ALL of us, here is:
A Prayer for Protection in Time of Pandemic
O Mary, you always brighten our path
as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain
while remaining steadfast in faith.
O loving Mother, you know what we need,
and we are confident you will provide for us
as at Cana in Galilee.
Intercede for us with your Son Jesus,
the Divine Physician,
for those who have fallen ill,
for those who are vulnerable,
and for those who have died.
Intercede also for those charged with
protecting the health and safety of others
and for those who are tending to the sick
and seeking a cure.
Help us, O Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who took upon himself our
sufferings and carried our sorrows,
so as to lead us, through the Cross,
to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen.
Under thy protection we seek refuge,
O Holy Mother of God.
In our needs, despise not our petitions,
but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen.
May God Bless us all!!
